The Vucciria district

The district starts at the Cala, an ancient port, a place of exchange and a reminder of a past in which sea trade made Palermo the most desirable city in the Mediterranean. The heart of the district is Piazza Caracciolo and its Vucciria Market.
We recommend visiting the Oratory of Santa Cita and the Church of San Domenico in the morning. The Salinas Archaeological Museum represents a real journey through the past.
A treat for young and old alike is the Teatro dei Pupi, featuring the historic Cuticchio family.
